Sadly iAdmiral is incompatible with the iPhone 3GS. The AppStore says it needs a front-facing camera. I cannot understand why it need the camera and why it does not work on the 3GS. An explanation would be nice :)
The front-facing-camera requirement is just a gimmick to restrict it for 4g devices. Don't worry, the app is NOT secretly taking pictures of gamers for some devious purposes - iOS API does not allow to test for 4g devices any other way. Why? Beats me.
The game is now restricted to 4g because of the need for retina display - BUT a 3GS and 3G compatible version IS in the making. Probably not the next update though...
Your need for a front facing camera work-around is going to aggravate buyers. I just bought iAdmiral for my iPad 1 (it has the same display as the iPad 2) and your work-around is keeping me from installing the game. Please remove the work-around and put in the description the need for a high resolution display.
I'll look in to the matter. What I can say right now - you should check the requirements list on iTunes before buying the game to check if your device is supported or not. If you already bought the game for a non-supported device, i can only ask for patience - I will add support for older devices too, but this will take some time (new graphics, testing, etc...)
Hi, really nice game i like it a lot. I think idea and level of AI is really challenge. Unfortunately there are some major bug that suggest me to wait for future release before going on with the game.
Indeed I'm at the scenario "Breaking the blockade". There (do not know if in general) SAVE GAME is not working properly. I saved the turn several times but then when I reload it did not start from the same turn but from the beginning.
Further comment: If one get a phone call during the game then all the game is lost :-( I purchased recently several games (ibomber def or catan) where the game is saved automatically if one get a phone call or an SMS, i.e. thing that are intrisic to the iPhone functionality ;-) Please fix the thing son because the game is really cool!
@ultosa: Thanks for the info, I will definitely look at this bugs. One question though - when you say you "reload" do you choose "Breaking The Blockade" scenario, or "Last Save" from the scenario picker menu?

ReplyDeleteSame problem here. I really want this game, but I can't download it on my 3GS.
ReplyDeleteYou've gotten some good press over at Boardgamegeek.com -- if there's any way to support the 3gs I imagine you'll get a decent number of purchases...

ReplyDeleteAnyway we can get this to work on the Verizon iPhone 4? IOS is only at 4.2.X and you have the requirements set to 4.3.
